Hello yet again!
This would be a hell of a lot easier if your error pages were actually... error pages. Anyway, problem at hand is a MyBookFace redirect and my login info doesn't seem to work. If I remember correctly... login was locked out whenever the account itself was suspended for whatever reason (in this case I'm assuming bandwidth)... is that the case with mine?
Site: http://www.kittycorp.xtreemhost.com/ (http://www.kittycorp.xtreemhost.com/)
Also just to make things clear, since the last time I requested help I have gotten the login details and have logged in. But... as I am not the original owner of the account, thus not using the original signup email, I suppose I don't receive email notices --- is there a way I can? (I'd check the cpanel settings... but well... that's the problem at hand )
If it is a resource problem... I'm guessing that we've got 8 days to go till reset, right? Also, am I right at pegging it as bandwidth?
Oh and if it is a resource issue...
Any way we could get it up sooner? At least before the 26th?
Probably finally gonna move the site off this host... I'd like to be able to log in once again and set up a redirect.
Anyway... I'm gonna cut this message short... or I might say something that will offend you --- I'm having pretty crap luck, my site's forum is down for a server move this weekend. Who'd have guessed that my luck would have 2 out of 3 main resources down at the same time? I mean... I even had our site spread across multiple hosts in case of trouble...
EDIT: Oh and one more question... what exactly is your relation to freei.cp?
I'm sorry to tell you, but that account has been suspended for overusing the CPU-quota.
This is a daily quota and resets every day.
This means your site will become active again at the beginning of the next day (US time).
We have implemented a new analyzer in your vistapanel to determine which pages/scripts are using too much CPU.
Please refer to this post: http://xtreemhost.com/?p=327 (http://xtreemhost.com/?p=327)
It's recommended to have a look at this and take appropriate action to decrease your CPU-usage.
Oh, and we have no idea what you mean with freei.cp
That site doesn't even exist.
Ah woops, meant to say freei.me (Late night typo, freecp being the domain name of the other host I am on)
Also... uhh... so when exactly does it reset? I'm in central time and I had posted first about this issue at 8:52pm (central) and again at 1:33am; wouldn't it have reset already between those two times? We haven't made any massive changes in at least a couple weeks --- so I don't believe it should have hit the limit THAT quickly as far as daily limits go.
Thanks for the reply.
After further investigation, it is the monthly CPU-quota that causes the redirection, which resets on the 1st of the month.
We are not affiliated with that other site, they just use the some control panel, which is used by several free hosting companies.
Note that we can further host your site on a premium plan, as the site has become too popular for the free hosting plan.
Well I don't suppose you could offer some leniency, could you? At least enough time to nab the backup, upload to wordpress itself, and put up a simple html redirect to http://kcmm.wordpress.com/ (http://kcmm.wordpress.com/)?
If not... was worth a shot.
We have granted a CPU increase on your account and reactivated it.
Please look into optimization of your scripts as soon as possible and please have a look to the new CPU option in the vPanel.
But, I probably will not remain on this host for long --- as you've mentioned, we've outgrown your services. The blog database has been transferred over successfully and a redirect page has been set up. This account will either be fully vacated within the next couple weeks or whenever it's inactivity puts it below your hosting threshold. (I'll be relocating the actual files once we obtain a true new host --- we've gotten an offer which should be completed within the next week, barring my own luck)
I can't say I've enjoyed my time here... the hosting has been excruciating at times and the limits (especially cpu) have been below my needs / expectations. But, no hard feelings to you personally glenn --- you've been a great help through much of this.
So... ya don't need to respond to this. Just... mark it as resolved or whatever.
I would just like to add that you have to bear in mind that your website was hosted on a FREE hosting plan. For every free plan, there should be restrictions which assure the other websites on the free hosting cluster not to be affected.
There is a big difference with our premium plans which have nearly no restrictions. Our premium plans come with unlimited webspace and a free domain name. Accounts are hosted on much faster servers and have the famous cPanel.
I understand --- but even as far as free goes, I do have to say they were subpar compared to others I have dealt with. (I'd mention my forum's current host --- but I think it in bad taste to advertise a competitor. But I will say this... their standard free plan is quite similar to yours, just with a much more lax cpu restriction)
I am a cheapskate and the managing of these sites is "out of the goodness of my heart", not being the founder or even someone brought on specifically to do this job I can't afford to pay a fee in addition to time --- you no doubt understand the pressures of administration.
EDIT: But I am curious... so right now I'll be checking out exactly what was draining cpu wise.
EDIT 2: Seems that it was just the basic functions of our blog... meh. What measurement are those numbers handling anyway?
