Google SMTP Block [SOLVED]

About three days ago or so we learned that Google has elected to block our IP range from connecting to and sending mail out via the Gmail SMTP service. Please note this block ONLY affects sending mail via Gmail SMTP and does not affect anything else at this time, sites are still indexed, Google Apps still work and everything else related to Google still works.

We are in talks with Google engineers about this block and hopefully will have a resolution in place soon.

So in the meantime, workarounds…

1) You can rely on the php_mail() system to send e-mail however it is recommended mission or site critical e-mails (activation e-mails for instance) are not sent via this manner due to delays and delivery issues on the part of third-parties.

2) You may check into using your ISP provided SMTP server however many ISPs block access by IP addresses out of their service block and it may also be a violation of your ISP to do automated e-mailing.

3) You can search online for a solution we can’t think of right now, if you find one please feel free to share.

Apologies for the inconvenience caused by this.

UPDATE:

This issue should now be resolved, Google is working to unblock our IP ranges and you should soon be able to send e-mail via Gmail again.

We apologize for the trouble and frustration this caused you and we hope that in the future we will be able to resolve the issues faster when it comes to this kind of issue.
